Long nights, sequined outfits, and sold-out shows don’t exactly leave much room for a wellness routine. Life on a tour bus means fast-food temptations and endless travel days, but for Megan Moroney, that’s where her healthy habits shine. Between tour stops and recording sessions, the ACM New Female Artist of the Year sticks to a simple formula to keep her energy high: Pilates, plenty of protein, and a freezer stocked with MegaFit Meals.
Protein Makes It Possible
Tour life can get unpredictable, but Megan makes sure her nutrition stays consistent. On the bus, backstage, or after a show, she prioritizes protein.
“My bus is always stocked with MegaFit Meals,” she explains. “They have enough protein, not too many calories, and they actually fill you up. Everyone on my bus eats them.”
As Muscle & Fitness highlighted, she leans on protein-packed meals to avoid fast-food pitfalls and keep her energy high during long tour stretches.
Pilates Over Everything
Running across massive stages in sequins isn’t easy, and Megan admits cardio is her villain. Her workaround? Pilates.
“I love it,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “A Pilates workout kicks my butt for some reason. When I’m home, I’ll try to get in at least three sessions a week.”
It’s low impact, but it sneaks up on her! Keeping her strong, flexible, and ready for the spotlight, even after a week of travel days and late-night shows.
More Than Music
Whether she’s trading “all the new tea” with Kenny Chesney or cracking jokes with her band, Megan knows fueling isn’t just about food, it’s about fueling her mood, too. She once joked that Chesney “loves it (I think),” because updates between songs deserve a laugh as much as a lyric.
On tour, where glitter meets grit, she says humor is her secret weapon. “Humor is my weakness,” Megan admits. If you can make her laugh even when she’s three states deep into a tour week and still in sequins….you’re winning.
That same playful vibe spills over into her band, too. Her guitarist John Barker is so dedicated to the gym that she nicknamed him “Protein”, and the name stuck. Now, whether it’s on stage or in the bus freezer, protein is always part of the routine.
Her Formula Is Simple
✔️ Pilates to build strength and endurance
✔️ Protein to recover and refuel
✔️ MegaFit Meals to keep nutrition stress-free
